Summit Director Oswaldo Urdapilleta, P.h.D, and Manager Heather Brotsos are attending the 2017 AcademyHealth National Health Policy Conference (NHPC) this week in Washington, D.C. The conference provides "an extensive outlook on the nation's health policy agenda for the year ahead."

The policy-focused conference explores how the new administration and Congress will impact the Affordable Care Act and other components of healthcare policy. Attendees will hear from speakers like House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA), and Senator Bill Kassidy (R-LA), as well as a wide variety of experts in the healthcare field, former Congressional staffers, and members of the media.

This year's NHPC conference theme is "A First Look at the Evidence, Politics and Priorities Shaping Health Policy in 2017." The NHPC website summarizes the goals of the conference:

"For two days, the nation’s leading health care decision-makers and policy leaders use the existing evidence base to provide clarity on the most critical health care issues and immediate policy priorities in United States health care."

Summit is excited to send two thought leaders on health policy to this innovative event. Recently, our team produced a series of blogs on the proposed changes to Form 5500, which can be found here
