Last month, I had the exciting opportunity to speak at posit::conf(2025), Posit PBC’s annual conference. My talk, “Same Data, Different Tools: Visualizing with R and Python,” highlighted that strong design principles, not the software, are what drive impactful data visualizations.
Huge thanks to the Posit community for the energy, questions, and inspiration throughout the event. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with so many passionate data practitioners.
One example: Positron brings the power of Posit’s open-source ecosystem into a modern IDE, designed specifically for data scientists who work across R and Python. We’re excited to use it because it makes switching between languages seamless, integrates visualization and analysis tools in one place, and streamlines workflows. Most of all, it feels like a natural evolution of the tools we already love, built to make collaboration and creativity in data science even easier.
My team and I are excited to apply these insights to projects at Summit and continue advancing how we tell stories with data!
