Tim Essam Contributes to Economic Research to Combat Global Food Shortages

In August 2012, Tim Essam, a Consultant with Summit, was part of a team published in the journal Global Environmental Change. Mr. Essam worked on the article “Country and regional staple food price indices for improved identification of food insecurity,” which aims to use analysis of representative food price samples to help improve decisions made about targeted food assistance and humanitarian aid. The analysis provides an earlier means of warning for food insecurities or crises in the hopes that these issues can be mitigated or prevented.
