Summit staff member Eric Miller's paper on a dynamic programming method for reducing the variance of a stratified random sample has been accepted by both the 2012 Stata Conference and the 2012 Joint Statistical Meetings. Mr. Miller's dynamic programming tool may get used to choose the set of strata boundary points that optimally reduces sample variance.
