Quantitative Consultant, Federal Credit

Summit Consulting, LLC is a world-class consulting firm that specializes in providing state-of-the-art data analytics in support of public policy decision-making and litigation. Summit is currently expanding our team, and we have an opening for a professional with strong analytical, financial, and consulting skills to join our team. As an important member of our consulting team, you will work on various analysis projects for Federal and private clients, in functions ranging from research, data analysis, and model specification and construction, to report writing and presentation preparation and delivery. You can expect to collaborate extensively with other team members, Ph.D.-level experts, and clients.

The nature of our work is constantly changing, but recent projects have included the following areas of focus:

  • Analyses of the risk of Federal loan guarantee and loan insurance programs
  • Analyses of the Federal Government receipts and outlays
  • Estimating program costs for affordable rental housing programs
  • Statistical analysis of potential patterns of racial/ethnic discrimination
  • Cost/benefit analysis of the use of green building technologies

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide superior task-level deliverable management in fast-paced client engagement.
  • Provide excellent customer service, advice, and consulting to our clients regarding measuring the performance of programs and processes.
  • Lead a small team of junior staff in implementing program and process analysis, and writing up results. Ensure excellence in all work products developed by staff.
  • Be able to clearly use statistical and/or econometric methods to evaluate programs and processes.
  • Clearly articulate results of analysis in written form and in presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Data analysis, cleansing, and reporting to support predictive modeling.
  • Manipulating large data sets, programming in SAS, running various statistical models, and authoring technical reports on the methodologies and outcomes.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Supporting existing statistical models in production.
  • Improving existing SAS codes to create greater efficiencies and quality control.
  • Developing original SAS code to support new opportunities for predictive modeling and data analysis.
  • Building accurate, high-quality models and embedding models into workflow.
  • Liaising with clients, teaming partners, and other SAS programmers as directed by management.

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, computer sciences, engineering, or other quantitative field from a top program
  • Intermediate to advanced SAS programming skills, including data management, data cleaning, data analysis, statistical analysis, econometric/statistical/predictive modeling, and forecasting
  • Familiarity with SQL and/or SAS PROC SQL also desirable
  • Track record of task leadership and strong interest in working with data in client-focused, management consulting environment
  • MS Office skills (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to author technical reports and other client deliverables describing data and statistical analysis and modeling frameworks
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and mentor/lead junior staff with similar tasks
