Summit Interviewed on Student-Run Radio Program

This week, Summit staff were interviewed on Eliot Hine Radio, a radio program broadcast at Eliot Hine Middle School. Our staff was interviewed by students at the school, where Summit is sponsoring a classroom this semester through its partnership with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE).

Three Summiteers, Corey West, Sejla Karalic, and Lauren Scott, spoke with the students on the morning of October 30th as part of a segment titled “Climbing the Corporate Ladder.” They discussed Summit’s work and professional skills needed for our industry. Through NFTE, Summit staff volunteers will visit Eliot Hine twice monthly to work with students as they brainstorm products or services and develop business plans to put those ideas into action.

Eliot Hine Radio is a radio program run solely by middle school students as part of a class. Notable past guests include DC Mayor Vincent Gray, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, and professional football player Josh Morgan. The students have also conducted live broadcasts from notable DC-area events, such as the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. We are honored to be among those interviewed by these pioneering students!

More on Summit’s involvement in NFTE can be found in an earlier story. Photos of the interview can be found on our Facebook page.
