Principal Anthony Curcio Featured in New Book on Work/Life Balance

Summit Principal Anthony Curcio's thoughts on striking a work/life balance, and providing one for his employees, have been featured in a newly published book on the subject.

Brigid Schulte, an author and reporter for the Washington Post, recently published her book, "Overwhelmed: Work, Love, and Play When No One Has the Time." Her book discusses the ever-present balance that parents must strike between their family lives and work obligations. Ms. Schulte interviewed multiple professionals on the subjects she discusses, including time management, stress management, and roles in day-to-day family life.

Mr. Curcio shares his experience with the struggle, noting that he makes time to have lunch with his son at school and take his daughter to violin lessons on a weekly basis. When it comes to the balance that his employees seek, he told Ms. Schulte, "I read these stories about companies cutting back on flexible work... I tend to think of them as poor profit maximizers and poor managers." In order to attract and retain motivated talent to ultimately provide top service, Summit allows a variety of flexible working options for staff at any stage in their career.
