Management Consultant, Financial Services

Summit Consulting, LLC is a world-class consulting firm that specializes in providing state-of-the-art data analytics in support of public policy decision-making and litigation. Summit is currently expanding our team, and we have an opening for a candidate to join our team of consultants. We seek a new team member in our financial services directorate who can lead challenging projects, employ business process improvement techniques, perform program risk analysis, and provide excellent customer service for a wide variety of projects relating to risk management and modeling, mission oriented financing, credit evaluation and analysis, and econometric modeling. Consultants can expect to collaborate with other team members, Ph.D.-level experts, and clients.

The nature of our work is constantly changing, but recent projects have included the following areas of focus:

  • Design, development, and implementation of new Federal credit lending programs
  • Analysis of the risk of Federal loan guarantee and loan insurance programs
  • Estimating program costs for affordable rental housing programs
  • Statistical analysis of potential patterns of racial/ethnic discrimination
  • Cost/benefit analysis of the use of green building technologies

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Lead engagements of experienced staff that perform research on a variety of topics, both qualitative and quantitative, and present results to senior staff and clients
  • Develop and present innovative approaches to analyze various business and public policy questions, using techniques including descriptive statistics, sampling, and econometric modeling
  • Assist in the development of program policies and the creation of business processes
  • Document the technical details of your work clearly to facilitate collaboration with other team members and ensure quality control
  • Clearly articulate results of analysis in written form and in presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • B.A. in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or another social science with a strong applied component. Masters or PMP strongly preferred.
  • Three to five years of related work experience. Work experience in credit and risk management is strongly preferred, and experience with community development or government loan programs is a plus.
  • Experience working with federal clients in a Big 4 or specialty management consulting firm is strongly preferred.
  • A strong knowledge of financial analysis, including financial modeling
  • A strong foundation in basic statistics, economics, and econometrics
  • Demonstrated ability to draw conclusions from analysis and present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of at least one statistical software package (SAS, SPSS, Matlab, R, or Stata) preferred
