CFO of the Small Business Administration Joins Summit

Summit is pleased to announce that Mr. Jonathan Carver has been appointed as Summit’s Director of Financial Services. Mr. Carver comes to Summit from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), where he served as a Chief Financial Officer and Associate Administrator for Performance Management. At SBA, he led transition efforts and implemented performance measures, budgets, and financial reporting systems within the agency to establish greater financial transparency. Mr. Carver also served as the SBA’s Performance Improvement Officer and Chief Acquisition Officer, leading an office of over 140 finance professionals. He has acted as a representative of SBA in dealings with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), U.S. Inspector General, Government Accountability Office (GAO), and multiple members of Congress and their staff.

Summit’s Financial Services Directorate provides guidance and expertise to Federal and state agencies, as well as philanthropies and mission-oriented financial intermediaries, in managing lending and capital deployment programs.

Mr. Carver holds both a Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree from the George Washington University. He has served as a member of the United States Chief Financial Officers Council, United States Chief Acquisition Officers Council, and Performance Improvement Council. He also successfully led the SBA in achieving the Association of Government Accountant’s Certificate of Excellence in Accountability and Reporting (CEAR) for the last four fiscal years.

Mr. Carver’s direct financial management experience and strategic planning expertise in accordance with Federal Credit reform make him highly qualified to lead Summit’s Financial Services directorate into the future.
